Besan Cheela

Besan cheela is simple spicy gram flour PANCAKES. Besan cheela is mostly eaten for BREAKFAST and EVENING SNACK with TEA.

 1 cup Besan (gram flour)
 ¼ tsp Ajwain (carom seeds)
  tsp Turmeric Powder
 Salt as needed
 2 tbsp Onion (Finely Chopped)
 1 Green Chilli (finely chopped)
 1 tsp Grated Ginger
 100 ml Water (as needed)
 2 tsp Oil or Desi GheeTaste best with Ghee
Preparation for batter

Take besan in a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients except oil and water.

Add half water in bowl. With a whisker begin to mix everything. if the batter looks thick, then add more water in it.

Depending on the quality and texture of besan, addition of water will be more or less. Mix to a smooth flowing consistency in the batter. Break the lumps if any.

Heat a pan on low flame, allow it to turn hot.

Mix the batter well from the bottom, then take a ladle of batter and pour it on the pan.

Drizzle Some oil around the edges. allow to cook until the edges leaves the pan, flip it to other side.

Cook this side till you see golden spots on the besan cheela.

Fold and serve cheela. Besan cheela are best had hot. But if you are not able to serve them hot, then place them in a casserole. They remain warm and can be served later.
Enjoy with coriander chutney and tamarind chutney.
